Wireframing for Netflix
I am a member of the design team at Netflix. My task is to brainstorm ideas and design wireframes that offer a unique approach to service usability, setting it apart from competitors.
Many users watch foreign movies and TV shows on video streaming platforms to learn a new language. Currently, this feature is only available on dedicated platforms. To set us apart from our competitors, I propose incorporating features into our app that specifically target this demographic, helping users learn their desired language while immersing themselves in content. This way, we can attract new users and expand our user base. By leveraging our existing capabilities and rolling out these key features, we can engage language learners and make it fun to learn while watching.
Some proposed features include:
- Look up words in subtitles (limited to providing definitions and sound; no sentence examples)
- Save newly learned words in a “Vocabulary” tab
