Design Scenario

As I’m a member of the design team at a video streaming service. My task was to brainstorm ideas and design wireframes that offer a unique approach to service usability, setting it apart from other competitors.

Project Goal

To provide users with an intuitive and exceptional service, I've decided to introduce a new feature called "Community." Users will be able to effortlessly engage with all available content topics on the platform, fostering discussions and sharing their honest opinions. The goal is to:

  • Build a robust platform user base
  • Establish a platform where users can freely share their candid opinions.
Share your insights — leave a project review and help others grow their skills

Excellent work on conducting thorough competitor research and creating detailed annotated wireframes for a streaming platform. I particularly liked the idea of integrating community features, recognizing that many people base their movie choices on the opinions of others.

Extra kudos for your well-structured and clear presentation of work, which is not only easy to scan but effectively addresses all relevant issues. Well done!

The wireframes are clean and well-organized. The information hierarchy on the Home screen works well, and the flow from topic list to discussion is logical and intuitive. The review filtering system (All/Positive/Negative) and sorting options (Recent/Popular/Oldest) are smart decisions that directly support the project goal. Annotations are clear and show a thoughtful approach to documentation. As mentor Alesya rightly noted, the work is well-structured and easy to scan.

A few things to refine: empty states are missing (what does the user see when there are no opinions yet?), along with loading and error states. It's also worth considering how to encourage users to leave their first comment. The bare "Comment..." input might not be enough. The emoji icon next to the negative review (green smiley beside 1 star) seems inconsistent with the sentiment.

This is a solid conceptual foundation. The core idea of Community as a platform differentiator makes real sense. Next step could be fleshing out edge cases and building a prototype and it'll be truly complete. 💪😊

I loved how you structured and presented your work; it is very easy to navigate, and the annotations as well as the analysis of the competitors are very useful to understand the value of the new feature, which I believe is something with great potential, as users tend to base their choices on other people's comments and opinions. It makes it overall easier to decide what to watch next if they do not have something in mind.

A couple of questions/suggestions:

  • I wonder where a three-star ranking will live, positive or negative?
  • Access point the community discussion thought the movie/series too so that users can engage in the community and/or check ranking and decide whether to watch next.
  • Add the overall ranking in the detail page.
  • Add more filters like "Top Rated", "Genres" that allow users to discover new content to watch to serve a wide range user base, not only the ones who already watched the content.

Incrível!!!

A super minimalistic project and you have shown the entire scenario in a very superb manner.

One of the feedback I have is on the community page where you can add a filter to filter out the most liked and disliked comment.

Also, maybe you can think of sorting out the community in terms of country, language, culture, etc so that I can see communities based on this.

Instead of the text "Total Topics", you can think of adding "Total communities", because the entire page is on showing different community.

The project looks fantastic. Keep up the good work.

great works

Well-structured, making the hierarchy clear and intuitive for users to follow. The design looks neat and polished — almost like a finished product!

Brilliant use of the templates and great overall concepts!

Very well done! The wireframes are greatly comprehensive and with the annotations they are so easy to understand and later to iterate on. The competitor analysis also gives a lot of insight on the broader spectrum of services available and how your iteration aims to solve the perceived gaps in the market.

Hi Tajul, I really enjoyed your project and I think it's pretty solid. I liked how you organized the various sections and the idea of a community to share thoughts and opinions about the movies! I also liked how you wrote your annotations. Well done!
