Notification Design
This work involves the design of notifications microcopy for the Cosmic Beauty fashion brand. My goal was to enhance the user experience for mobile users by providing engaging push notifications that inform them about updates and other relevant information.
This is a push notification for updating the user there was an issue in the delivery. The brand takes the blame for the problem by avoiding blaming the user with a friendly, honest and reassuring tone, also not to evoke anxiety or negative emotions. The notification is personal using words like 'for you' and provides methods to bring the user to action, such as the CTA 'Track order' or 'Need help?' to contact support. The message is short and direct and uses simple language avoiding technical jargon.
I designed 4 different types of notifications: cart abandonment, delivery issue, product recommendations, and exclusive discounts.
The tone remains the same as shown above, using a short and simple message in line with a fashion brand. In some cases, the notification has an extended version using images or actions visible only after pressing on it.
This is one is the case where an expanded version is essential. I can click to see the recommended products directly in the app or have a brief preview of the chosen items with a more prominent CTA.

I really like the casual, friendly tone you’ve used for the notifications — it’s exactly what users would expect from a beauty & fashion brand. There are a couple of areas that could be improved though. There’s some inconsistency with the use of "We" and "I." Unless you’re using a specific mascot for your app, stick to "We" for consistency. The "View Later" button is redundant since push notifications are dismissible by default. Instead, consider linking to Support or other relevant sections of the app.
Great job on this project! Your approach to notifications is thoughtful and user-centered, with a friendly, casual tone that perfectly suits a beauty and fashion brand. Overall, impressive work, and I’m excited to see how your designs evolve! Keep it up!
Hey Andrea, you nailed it. Happy to see this after the first feedback. Good job.
Hey Andrea,
Without checking out your profile I would assume you have plenty of experience building out UI's and this project shows it.
I like you explained how each notification is meant to be valuable for the user, providing them with helpful and relevant information first and foremost.
Great job!
Excellent work Andrea looking forward to seeing how your designs develop!
Hi Andrea,
You've carefully considered your target audience and taken into account potential user pain points, such as what happens when a package is delayed. I also congratulate you on how you've presented the project.
My only observation is to polish the microcopy even further. Maintain the playful tone, but also strive for conciseness.
