Wireframing for Video Streaming Service
VidHive is a new video streaming service that strives to compete with the titans of the industry. As their UX Designer, it’s my job to ensure that the platform not only appeals to users of existing services like Netflix, Hulu, Max, and Amazon Video with features they already know and love, but also delights them with enticing features unique to VidHive.
With focuses on usability, community, customization, and personalized analytics, VidHive separates itself from the crowd with features like Watch Along - a way to experience your favorite movies and television shows with friends.
Users can rate and review content, as well as discuss using the Live Chat text box from the respective content page.
With Playlists, users will be able to curate their own collections of videos and play them back how they choose using repeat or shuffle features. Playlists can be published to user profiles and shared via direct link or popular social media platforms.
Speaking of user profiles, users can gain real time insight into their viewing habits from the analytics section of their page, with data like viewing time, most watched videos, and global rankings.
By focusing on areas that competitors do well while simultaneously innovating in areas they ignore, VidHive promises to deliver a video streaming experience with something for everyone.
