Xbox App - Notifications That Drive Action
The Xbox App already does a great job of using push notifications to drive actions such as:
- Signing up for their Game Pass subscription (which is also one of the best value subscriptions in the gaming and entertainment industries).
- Getting players to try out new games or hop on to whichever game(s) they are currently playing.
- Convince players to purchase titles they have on their wishlist, even if they are not going to play said titles right away.
I did my best to stay on brand per my experience with the Xbox app as well as add my own touch.
Let's take a look at each:
Push Notification 1: "Discover New Worlds For $1"
As gamers, many of us are always looking for that next big adventure. Xbox' Game Pass Ultimate has been recognized as one of the best value deals in the industry.
So when we are offered access to AAA titles and online gaming for $1 it is a deal that is hard to pass up!
Push Notification 2: "Your Wishlist Game is on Sale"
Ask any gamer what their backlog looks like and the likely answer is somewhere along the lines of "large".
Most of us likely have a few dozen titles on our wishlist, so when one of these titles goes on sale it is another offer that is hard to pass up (even if we don't play it right away).
Push Notification 3: "Xbox Store Flash Sale"
Similar to the above, many gamers are always interested in checking out titles and accessories that they might not have top of mind (much less on their wishlist).
A flash sale notification is a tempting invitation see what deals we can snap up.
Push Notification 4: "Just One More Game"
Last but not least, not everything is about selling, sometimes it's about demonstrating that you get the culture.
As gamers, many of us have spent many late nights going for that "one last W". This notification would be a fun little nod to those of us who have stayed up till 3AM grinding it out, much to the chagrin of our parents when were kids, or our partners when we were bigger kids.
While I randomly chose the times for the other notifications, I purposely chose 2:41AM for this notification for this reason.
This was my first official Figma project/export. So I hope everything looks good on others' end.
Thank you for taking the time to review and provide feedback!

The copy is clear, concise, and not overbearing, which is perfect for keeping users engaged without overwhelming them. What I love is the way you’ve incorporated gamer lingo. It feels like it’s coming from someone who really knows the audience. The tone is fun and inviting, so the notifications feel less like an interruption and more like something users actually want to see!
These are great push notifications with special care taken to appeal the audience! Took me a minute to understand what ending on a "L" was, but I figured it meant ending on a loss 😅 I appreciate the nod to gamers and I sense that they will get it and appreciate it, might even make them smile and motivate them to continue playing! Also saying "Just one game" appeals to the gamer whose always struggling to log off for the night - these notifications might be a bit too good and feed into their habit, but it does meet the criteria for a catchy push notification.
The titles are engaging and I can relate to the wishlist notification as I am always on the look out for those kinds of messages. I like that kind of personalised messaging, which makes me feel like the notifications are looking out for my interests. There is also a sense of urgency with the "Grab it ASAP." although the language might seem a tab bit pushy.
I know that the design shows different notifications for variety in messages but looking at the time stamps it does seem a bit much to get that many notifications. I even see a message for 2:41am, seems real early hahaha at least for me!
In conclusion, it looks great to me, I would just tweak the timings and consider some language that doesn't come across as too forceful. Great work, I enjoyed this!
