SiteScope - Progress Tracking App
🧩 Project Overview
This project showcases the design of a mobile login and sign up experience for a construction progress tracking app.
The app allows construction site teams to capture and upload photos to document project progress in real time. The onboarding experience was designed to balance security, simplicity, and industry relevance.
🎨 Visual Direction
Primary Color: Orange
- Inspired by common construction safety colors
- Reflects visibility, alertness, and industry familiarity
🔐 Secure Login Experience
Security is critical, especially for construction companies managing:
- Multiple workers
- Sensitive project data
To address this, the login flow includes:
- Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for enhanced data protection
- Microsoft and Google Single Sign-On (SSO) for convenient and secure company access
This ensures both strong security and ease of use for enterprise teams.
✍️ Frictionless Sign Up Flow
The sign up process was designed to reduce barriers and increase completion rates.
Step 1:
- Name
Only essential information is required initially.
Additional details are collected on the next screen, breaking the process into smaller, manageable steps. This improves usability and makes account creation feel quick and effortless.

Clean design with a well thought out approach to balancing security and simplicity. A few suggestions to consider:
1. Authentication Flow: Passwordless login is a smart call, but checking email on every login can be frustrating on a busy job site. A "Remember me" option plus biometric login (Face ID / fingerprint) for returning users would make the experience much smoother.
2. Verification Code Input: Make sure the code input supports paste and OS-level auto-fill - it's a small detail that eliminates unnecessary friction.
3. Full Name Validation: A single full name field keeps sign-up simple, but validation gets tricky fast - what format do you enforce, and how do you handle double surnames or non-Western naming conventions? Worth thinking through the edge cases.
Overall, great work - keep it up!
Your Login and Sign Up screens look clean, and I really like the color choices you went with.
I also find the passwordless approach interesting, using only email. What led you to make that decision? I’d be curious to understand the reasoning behind it and how you see it impacting usability and security.
I’m also wondering about the choice to select a role during onboarding. I’m not fully familiar with the rest of the app, but intuitively I would expect that if I’m, for example, a manager, I would invite others and assign roles to them rather than users selecting their own role upfront. I’d love to hear how you’re thinking about that structure.
The project makes a really strong first impression. The orange as a primary color fits the construction industry context perfectly. A well-justified decision that's consistent with the brief. Typography is readable, and the layout of the login and sign-up forms is clean and breathable. You can clearly see knowledge of the minimalism principle (Nielsen).
The passwordless approach with 2FA is a bold but sensible decision. I agree with Sławomir on the "Remember me" option and biometrics. That would be a natural extension of this flow for returning users. It's also worth making sure the verification code inputs support clipboard paste.
Petar's question about the role selection logic during onboarding is spot on. Of roles are assigned by a manager, self-selection could introduce inconsistencies. That step is worth rethinking.
Splitting registration into two steps is good progressive disclosure practice. It lowers the entry barrier. I'm missing empty states and success states, but that's likely because the project is still in progress.
The foundation is solid and the direction is very promising. Refine the edge cases, add the missing states, and this project will be very good. 💪😊
Really solid design. The interface is clean and understandable. The way you have minimized using passwords is commendable but i think opening the email inbox everytime while logging in can be a painpoint for the users. I would add a "take me to my inbox" secondary button, or a "remember me" option for that reason.
Also, in your sign up flow, i can see you have the "back" button on the top-right corner of the screen. I would take that to the top-left corner to match the mental model of the users.
Otherwise, great work! Keep it up!
