Wireframing for a Video Streaming Service (Netflix)
While brainstorming an idea on how to improve the existing system of video streaming services, an idea came to mind. It was for a modular system inspired by Netflix's current design.
In this design brief I go over my idea, from the initial thoughts, the modular design system, low fidelity wireframes, and a high fidelity mockup.

I really like the modular system idea! Шt feels progressive and gives users a level of control that most streaming platforms don’t currently offer. The balance between default recommendations for casual viewers and customization for more intentional users is a strong product decision. It respects different user behaviors instead of forcing one pattern on everyone.
I’m curious about how intuitive the active/passive states would feel in practice. Since streaming platforms usually rely on passive browsing, introducing an editable layout is a meaningful shift. Have you tested how easily users understand switching, removing, or inserting modules?
It might be helpful to include a lightweight onboarding moment or contextual hints when users activate the modular mode, so the feature feels empowering rather than overwhelming. Overall, the concept adds real personalization without breaking the familiar structure, which is a smart direction.
