TikTok Halloween

Introduction

TikTok’s approach to design is all about creating impactful, shareable experiences. Through research and exploration, we developed a creative set of Halloween icons that align with TikTok’s brand and resonate with its global community. These icons are designed to drive engagement, capture trends, and seamlessly enhance the app experience during the Halloween season.

Purpose

The purpose of this Halloween icon set is to offer the community an opportunity to enjoy one of their favorite apps with a seasonal theme. Many users love celebrating Halloween by creating intricate costumes and engaging in activities with family and friends. With this themed experience, TikTok can become an added part of the seasonal festivities, enhancing users’ enjoyment of the season.

Challenge

We aimed to balance a fun Halloween vibe with TikTok’s clean, modern style, making sure icons are clear and easy to use in the app’s UI. During the design process, it was initially challenging to pinpoint the right theme, but we eventually landed on a witches theme to capture the Halloween spirit perfectly.

Scope

Design 14 icons that align with TikTok’s brand, using fun Halloween visuals. Each icon considers user interactions, offering both outlined and filled styles for a seamless experience in the app.

Target Audience

TikTok users, mainly creators and content enthusiasts, engaging with the platform during Halloween.

Material Grid Foundation

The Halloween icon pack was designed using the Material Grid system for consistent and precise icons. The grid keeps proportions balanced, ensuring each icon looks clear and aligned. This approach also makes the icons easily scalable across any screen size, from small mobile devices to larger desktops.
