User Persona for Social Media App by Lania Fatma
Project Info :
- Platform: Mobile App (iOS & Android)
- Device Type: Smartphone (primary), Tablet (secondary)
Research Methods for each persona:
- For Rossy (The Busy Professional):
- Conduct one-on-one interviews and contextual inquiries to understand pain points.
- Use surveys to gather data on content preferences and feed customization.
- For Alex (The Social Butterfly):
- Organize focus groups and analyze app analytics to study engagement patterns.
- Use diary studies to track daily usage and frustrations with ads and algorithms.
- For Lee (The Passive Consumer):
- Conduct usability testing and surveys to identify navigation and privacy issues.
- Perform content audits to evaluate ease of finding and engaging with posts.
Why these methods?
I chose these research methods because they align with the unique behaviors and needs of each persona. For Rossy, I focused on efficiency and time-saving; for Alex, I prioritized engagement and creativity; and for Lee, I emphasized simplicity and ease of use. These methods will provide actionable insights to improve the platform for all user types.
Some Interview Questions I asked to users :
For Rossy (The Busy Professional):
- What is your primary goal when using this social media platform?
- What type of content do you most often search for or share?
- What is the biggest challenge you face when using this platform?
- How often do you feel distracted by irrelevant content?
- Which feature helps you save the most time when using the app?
For Alex (The Social Butterfly):
- What motivates you to actively share content on social media?
- How often do you feel your content doesn’t get enough attention?
- What are your thoughts on ads and sponsored content on this platform?
- Do you feel connected to your community or friends through this platform?
- What feature would you like to see to boost your creativity and engagement?
For Lee (The Passive Consumer):
- What is your main reason for using this social media platform?
- How often do you find it difficult to navigate the app?
- What do you think about new features introduced on this platform?
- How important is privacy and data security to you when using this app?
- What would make your experience on this platform more enjoyable?
In conclusion, by understanding the pain points, motivations, goals, and needs of the users, I'm able to design and implement solutions that significantly enhance the user experience on the social media platform, ensuring it is more intuitive, engaging, and tailored to their expectations.
