Project Overview

Fight G’s landing page is designed to convert first-time visitors into free trial bookings. The page removes friction, reduces intimidation (common for combat sports), and builds trust quickly through clear value propositions, social proof, and simple, friendly microcopy. The experience keeps attention on a single primary CTA “Book My Free Trial Class” repeating it at high-intent moments to maximize sign-ups.

Design & Visual Identity

Typography

I pair a bold, athletic display face, Headliner No. 45 for section titles with Noto Sans for all paragraphs and UI text. Headliner No. 45 gives the page energy and a clear section structure; Noto Sans keeps reading effortless across long, dark sections. I use a generous type scale (H1 ≈96px, section headers ≈72px, leads ≈24px, body ≈16px/20px) with relaxed line height so copy stays legible on a dark background. I keep sentence case (not ALL CAPS) for friendliness, and limit bolding to key benefits and CTAs to avoid visual noise.

Color Palette

I chose a near-black canvas to create a cinematic, focused stage for content. The brand yellow is reserved for actions and key headings so users quickly learn “yellow = do something.” Body text uses soft white for comfortable contrast, while subtle greys define cards and inputs without pulling attention from the primary CTA. This scheme feels strong but not aggressive, maintains WCAG-friendly contrast, and consistently guides the eye toward booking.

Imagery

I use real training photos, in black and white to reduce distraction, unify mixed lighting, and convey authenticity. Shots emphasize partner drills, padwork, and coach–student moments so beginners can picture themselves in class. I add gentle gradient overlays to protect legibility, crop for motion and intent, and balance each image with clear copy space. Social embeds extend this realism, proving the gym is active and welcoming.

Component styling & hierarchy

Buttons are high-visibility yellow with dark text for accessible contrast and instant action recognition. Inputs use minimal chrome with generous padding to feel low-pressure. Spacing is roomy to let each message breathe, and I repeat the primary CTA at natural decision points (after classes, before footer) to reduce scrolling back and forth. Overall, the visual system is designed to feel confident, modern, and readable, always supporting the core goal: book a free trial with zero hesitation.

Tone and Voice

I set the tone to be confident but welcoming. The gym has serious pedigree, I speak like a skilled coach who’s patient and clear. I aim for friendly authority: direct, encouraging, and never shouty, so first-timers feel safe and motivated, not intimidated.

I write in plain English with short, active sentences and second person to build closeness. When combat terms appear, I explain them in everyday words. I front-load benefits and de-risk with reassurance. Microcopy sets expectations and lowers friction—labels are simple, placeholders are helpful, and confirmations feel human.

For persuasion, I prefer proof over hype. I highlight real coaches, real photos, and real student outcomes, then keep the CTA language personal “Book My Free Trial Class” to nudge commitment. I use sentence case and minimal emphasis to stay readable on dark UI, and I keep the voice consistent across sections so every line supports one outcome: the user feels ready and confident to book a free trial.
