Overview

This project aimed to improve the accessibility and user experience of the InVision Login and sign up page. The initial design presented several accessibility challenges and usability flaws that negatively affected the user experience and potentially impacted users with disabilities.

Challenges

There are several challenges associated with the product's sign-up process and user interface. Firstly, the sign-up process is overwhelmed with numerous required fields, which can be daunting for users and may lead to a higher drop-off rate. To address this, consider streamlining the sign-up process by reducing the number of required fields to only the most essential ones.

Accessibility Issues for visually impaired Users

Additionally, visually impaired users may face difficulties due to the focus state and background clutter, particularly in the review section. These visual elements can make it hard for them to navigate and interact with the interface effectively. To improve accessibility, ensure that the focus state is clearly distinguishable for all users, including those with color vision deficiencies. Using high-contrast colors and avoiding cluttered backgrounds can enhance readability and usability.

Single Sign-On (SSO) Functionality

On a positive note, the product does offer single sign-on (SSO) functionality, which can simplify the login process by allowing users to sign in using their existing credentials from other platforms. This feature can significantly enhance the user experience by reducing the number of steps required to access the product.

Great job! I believe you did a really good job with this project and you successfully addressed user pains which exist on the previous version of the sign up page. It would be great to additionally see a design for the steps after creating an account which addresses the needs for collecting the user's name and role, as well as leading to a high rate of newsletter / marketing sign ups.

There is, I suppose, only one point which is currently missing - that is information regarding accepting the terms and conditions & privacy policy while creating the account. Often this step is required, especially in certain regions of the world like the EU. This could be done by eg. adding a small caption underneath the "create account" button with a link for users. Other than that, awesome work.

Thanks, @Dawid Zurowski, for reviewing my work. I agree with your point and have updated the sign-up page by adding a terms and privacy note just above the 'Create Account' button

Thanks for the sub, Satherswaran!

You did a great job expressing the pain points here. Like Dawid said, you need to have mandatory terms and conditions!

Great vibes only!

Thanks, @Cristian Georgescu, for reviewing my work. I agree with you and Dawid's point and have updated the sign-up page by adding a terms and privacy note just above the 'Create Account' button.
