The original site is really busy and has a lot of clutter. Your solution simplified and clean which will help users find what they want much easier.
The alignment on the navigation bar around the logo and search bar on desktop doesn't work so well. I think you can get the discount banner on it's own row as that isn't a permanent element.
I also would have loved to see how you implement the other sections too but overall the hero you have now is much cleaner and modern looking.
