I chose to redesign the profile page of Indeed, an American hiring platform that is widely used in my country.

Indeed is not the go-to hiring platform for creatives, and that was the real challenge.

I carried out a bit of research with two main objectives: understanding the needs of candidates and the expectations of recruiters.

During my research, I also discovered that most candidates — especially on this platform — don’t complete their profile pages, as they don’t see any real benefit in doing so.

With that in mind, I created two distinct profile pages to serve the needs of both:

Candidates:

  • Easy access to the status of their applications (after all, that’s why they use the platform);
  • A clear understanding of the value of completing their profile (highlighting that a complete profile attracts more attention from recruiters);
  • A more visually appealing and intuitive layout (while respecting brand guidelines);

Recruiters:

  • A straightforward candidate page with relevant keywords to quickly assess whether the candidate fits the role;
  • A way to easily compare candidates;
  • A space to take notes and keep track of impressions;

Redesigning Indeed's Profile Page for Creatives

I undertook a redesign project for Indeed's profile page, a widely used American hiring platform in my country. The core challenge was transforming Indeed, which isn't typically the go-to platform for creatives, into a more suitable environment for them.

My research had two main objectives: to understand the needs of candidates and the expectations of recruiters. A key discovery was that most candidates, particularly on Indeed, don't complete their profiles because they don't perceive a real benefit in doing so.

With this in mind, I developed two distinct profile page designs, tailored to serve the specific needs of each user group:

Candidate Profile Page: Enhancing Engagement and Value

The redesigned candidate profile focuses on providing immediate value and encouraging completion:

  • Easy Access to Application Status: Candidates can quickly see the status of their job applications, which is a primary reason they use the platform.
  • Clear Value Proposition for Profile Completion: The design highlights the benefits of a complete profile, emphasizing that it significantly increases visibility and attention from recruiters.
  • Visually Appealing & Intuitive Layout: While adhering to Indeed's brand guidelines, the layout is more engaging and user-friendly, catering to the aesthetic preferences of creatives.

Recruiter View: Streamlined Assessment and Collaboration

The recruiter-facing page is designed for efficiency and effective candidate evaluation:

  • Straightforward Candidate Overview: Recruiters get a concise view of relevant information, featuring keywords that allow for quick assessment of a candidate's suitability for a role.
  • Easy Candidate Comparison: The layout facilitates effortless comparison between different candidates, aiding in the decision-making process.
  • Integrated Note-Taking & Impression Tracking: Recruiters have a dedicated space to record notes and keep track of their impressions, streamlining their workflow.

This redesign aims to bridge the gap for creatives on Indeed, making the platform more valuable for both job seekers and those looking to hire creative talent.

Hi. I'm sorry, I didn't understand the review. My main objetive was not to create a profile page for creatives exclusively but instead create a profile that serves all kind of candidates.

Outsanding Ania!

The presentation is clear and straight to point.

I've a tiny suggestion that could make it easier for readers, make the images larger so when you point to any part using an arrow, I can read it. or you can make crops/cuts instead of having a single large images.

Let me know what you think.
