Open full project

This is project of my portfolio website I designed and developed by myself. I created it to gather all my web projects and other creations (i.e. photos, music) in one place. It functions as a hub of everything I do (professionally and hobbystically).

Icons

For this portfolio, I created own icons in Inkscape, to showcase the areas in which I work and learn. Each of them got it's own colour background, which is shifted from lineart, to have some playful touch in it.

Krylan Portfolio 1

Photo viewer and music player

My portfolio shows not only web development related works, but also my hobbies: flower photography and music production. I created pages with photo viewer and music player to make browsing this types of content more comfortable.

Krylan Portfolio 2

Shop page

My porfolio has a special page with free resources, including an e-book about Progressive Web Applications (PWA) or Weather Icon pack. In Polish version, it also includes discounts for services I use and recommend.

Krylan Portfolio 3

Dark Mode

My portfolio has also a dark mode, suited for people who want to read my texts with darker background.

Krylan Portfolio 4

Afterword

I'm really proud of my portfolio website. I'm maintaining it for years, enchancing the design and replacing some older parts as my knowledge grow.

I hope you will like it!

Honestly, Krzysztof, I envy you for finishing your own website. Many of us have left our portfolios stranded in the desert for many years 😄 you were able to build this from the ground up, including the backend, frontend, and even design your own icons as well—that’s impressive!

You’ll know a website is handmade when you view the source and see all of the semantic HTML tidy and inline, unlike those generated ones that are heavily minified and unreadable to humans. At least, this is how I measure whether it’s generated or not.

I heard that personal websites and the indie web are making waves right now; people are tired of depending on big platforms to create portfolios using readily made themes that eventually make every website look the same.

One thing I wish to see from your portfolio is more of your personality. The current one is nice, tidy, and pleasant, but it would be great if you could depict your tagline “web developer, fan of manga and anime” a bi more. Go crazy with the layout and show it to the world, Krylan!
