Giobi: promote inclusivity and understanding in your workplace
Step 1: Introduction
Because many of us spend so much time at work, it is crucial that our workplace be a space where we feel safe and welcome. However, nearly half of LGBTQ individuals are not out in the workplace. Why is this happening? What can be done in the workplace?
Giobi is a service that offers comprehensive workshops dedicated to promoting inclusivity in the workplace. Our interactive sessions focus on enhancing LGBTQ+ knowledge and understanding, equipping employees with the tools they need to foster a supportive and inclusive environment, promoting allyship, and creating a workplace where everyone feels respected and valued.
Overview: The idea is to create a service that is designed specifically for workspaces and offices, emphasizing activities that promote inclusivity and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
Step 2: Define the objectives
- Raise Awareness and Understanding: Offer workshops on LGBTQ+ history, current challenges, and cultural contributions.
- Promote Inclusivity in the Workplace: Provide tools and training on inclusive language, practices, and policies for a supportive work environment.
- Encourage Allyship: Educate participants on supporting LGBTQ+ colleagues and friends through practical advice and real-life scenarios.
- Foster a Safe and Open Dialogue: Create a safe space for questions, experiences, and learning through interactive discussions and Q&A sessions with LGBTQ+ speakers.
- Build Community and Networks: Strengthen community and support networks among participants, encouraging ongoing conversation and support.
- Promote Continuing Education: Inspire ongoing learning about LGBTQ+ issues with resources, reading materials, and further education suggestions.

Step 3: Set your research goals & methods
Understand how lgbtq+ community is supported in the workplace, understanding the context on how should be structured the workshops and which kind of content will be provided.
Learn from existing knowledge and best practices on how pages of events are created.
Identify usability issues and refine the design for a smooth user experience.
Step 4: Define the problem
My research revealed that despite significant progress in LGBTQ+ rights, many workplaces continue to struggle with fostering truly inclusive environments. This persistent lack of inclusivity often manifests as ignorance, discrimination, and insufficient support for LGBTQ+ employees. As a result, many employees experience a workplace culture that fails to fully respect and affirm their identities, leading to decreased job satisfaction, productivity, and overall well-being.
Step 5: Define the audience
In this project, it was essential to build a detailed persona better to understand the needs and motivations of our target audience.
Step 6: Brainstorm solutions
I opted to utilize the Crazy 8 method to develop various concepts and then proceeded to elaborate on them by creating wireframes.
Step 7: Process
I created the wireframe as a visual blueprint to define the structure and functionality of the interface design. This foundational tool maps out the placement of elements, user interactions, and the overall flow of the user experience.
Step 8: Final solution
I opted for vibrant colors and engaging illustrations to enhance visual appeal and captivate the audience.
Step 9: Final considerations
Through this project, I had the opportunity to analyze current challenges in modern workspaces. I am delighted to have developed a concept idea that I find compelling and l hope also others will like it :) thanks.

I like the depth of the idea and topic, good research was done. This piece of work is great!
But I have a few comments on the design of the page.
Firstly, too vibrant colours for large blocks, which cannot be used as a background colour, it makes the block difficult for the eyes to see. Especially if there are more bright elements on such a background, it is bad for the eyes :)
Secondly, I would recommend giving more weight to the subheadings of the block, you can make the font bold to improve the hierarchy on your page.
And thirdly, be more attentive to details. In the How It Works block, the elements are aligned haphazardly, as if the circles with steps are on their own and the description of each step is separate. The step number should be aligned with the step description, centre or left edge. And there should be the same gap from each number to the description.
Also, there is not always enough space from the edge of blocks to elements, for example, at the bottom of the carousel, in reviews.
The UX part has done a good job, and there is a lot to improve in the UI part.
I appreciate that you're tackling a real-world problem rather than a fictional one for the sake of the project. This resonates personally, as I've seen similar passive discrimination affect my LGBTQ colleagues. Your project has significant potential for enhancement with the integration of other technologies and domains. Exploring creative ways to solve this problem could take it even further.
However, I did notice an issue with the color choices. The current shades create cognitive dissonance, making it harder to read the text and distracting users, which may cause discomfort. I recommend toning down the colors or selecting better-suited shades. Overall, it's a good project with great potential. Good luck!
