Emotion Wheel
🧠 Structure Overview
The wheel is divided into core emotion categories at the center, which branch out into secondary and tertiary emotions as you move outward. It consists of 6 main emotion categories, each assigned a distinct color:
🌈 Core Emotions (Center Circle)
Each core emotion is positioned in the innermost ring and serves as the root for more nuanced feelings:
- Joy (light green)
- Love (light yellow)
- Fear (orange)
- Anger (red)
- Sadness (blue-violet)
- Surprise (aqua-blue)
🌀 Second Layer (Secondary Emotions)
This ring expands the core emotions into more descriptive forms:
- Joy → Content, Proud, Optimistic, Enthusiastic
- Love → Affectionate, Longing, Desire, Tenderness
- Fear → Scared, Terror, Insecure, Nervous
- Anger → Irritable, Exasperated, Rage, Aggravated
- Sadness → Disappointed, Shameful, Neglected, Despair
- Surprise → Moved, Overcome, Amazed, Confused
🌟 Outer Layer (Tertiary Emotions)
The outermost layer includes the most specific emotional descriptions. For example:
- From Joy:
- Cheerful → Amused, Satisfied
- Proud → Triumphant, Blissful
- From Love:
- Affectionate → Enamored, Passionate
- Tenderness → Caring, Compassionate
- From Fear:
- Terror → Insecure, Hysterical
- Scared → Frightened, Helpless
- From Anger:
- Rage → Hostile, Hateful
- Irritable → Annoyed, Frustrated
- From Sadness:
- Despair → Grief, Powerless
- Disappointed → Displeased, Regretful
- From Surprise:
- Confused → Perplexed, Disillusioned
- Amazed → Astounded, Awe-struck
🎨 Color Coding
Each segment is shaded in a gradient that becomes lighter as it moves outward, indicating a continuum from broad to subtle. This helps visualize how one feeling might evolve into another.
