Develop a User Persona
Scenario
As a UX designer for the social media Bluesky, I’m doing an observation about the reason behind decline in user engagement. I’m gathering data from asking users to fill in survey and do research on reviews i can find on the google play store and app store. By conducting this research, I hope I can have a better understanding and find a solution to solve the current problems within the app.
Project Info
Platform: Bluesky
Device Type: Android & IOS
Conduct Research
Research Methods: Survey & Secondary Research
I conducted a survey and secondary research by gathering informations on google play store and app store user review sections.
Survey Questions:
- Which device type do you use to open bluesky?
- For what purpose you’re using bluesky social app?
- On average, how much time do you spend using bluesky per day?
- What type of contents you were looking for on bluesky?
- What other social media app you regularly use?
- What is the most useful features you can find in bluesky?
- What confused/annoyed you about the app?
- From 1-10 how satisfied you are with the overall experience from using bluesky?
- What was the reason you deleted or no longer using bluesky?
- If you could change one thing from this app, what would it be?
Challenges and Insight Gained
Lack of content and userbase: People use a social app in order to be able to connect with other person, but the main problem of bluesky makes the engangement keeps getting lower.
Unsolved bugs: A smooth experience is one of the most important factors on using an app, with the amount of bugs and glitches, user tend to get frustrated which results to leave the app.
Poor algorithm: User cannot engage with the timeline because of the algorithm didn’t match with what user trying to search for or most likely interested on.

Hello Natasya,
Your work on developing a user persona for the Bluesky platform is thoughtful and well-structured. It's great to see how you approached the task with both survey data and secondary research — this combination adds depth to your findings and helps ground your persona in real user behavior.
I especially appreciated how clearly you've laid out your research goals, methods, and insights. The inclusion of specific survey questions and key challenges like “lack of content,” “bugs,” and “poor algorithm” makes your analysis feel practical and actionable.
If I were to suggest one small improvement, it might be to further develop the visual clarity of the persona layout. A bit more spacing or emphasis on key sections could help improve quick readability, especially for stakeholders who may be scanning the document.
Overall, this is a strong piece of work that reflects a user-centered mindset and thoughtful UX process. Well done!
Hi Natzwa. Your personas are well articulated and appear to be driven by a good understanding of the user's journey.
If I can share a small tip: you mentioned the operating systems of the specific devices, but it might help to know the device types (smartphone, tablet, etc.) for additional context.
