Research and Conceptualization
- Market Research: Analyzed the market to understand the competitive landscape, current trends, and design standards within the research industry, especially those appealing to a more mature audience.
- Inspiration Gathering: Sought inspiration from various sources that align with the values and aesthetic appreciation of the target demographic, such as classic designs, timeless motifs, and symbols of trust and expertise.
Ideation and Sketching
- Brainstorming: Engaged in brainstorming sessions to generate a range of ideas that merge traditional values with modern technology, reflecting Bridgetown Research’s unique approach.
- Sketching: Translated the brainstormed ideas into visual sketches, creating a variety of logo concepts. Paid special attention to legibility and simplicity to ensure the logo is easily recognizable by the target age group.
Design Development
- Concept Development: Developed the most promising sketches into digital concepts, experimenting with different typefaces, color schemes, and iconography that would resonate with the mature audience.
- Feedback Loop: Presented initial concepts to the client and selected focus groups within the target demographic for feedback, ensuring the design aligns with audience expectations and client objectives.
Refinement and Finalization
- Revisions: Made iterative revisions based on feedback, fine-tuning the design for clarity, impact, and alignment with the brand’s values and audience’s preferences.
- Final Design: Polished the chosen concept into the final logo design, ensuring it is adaptable across various mediums and retains its integrity in both digital and print formats favored by the 50-60 age group.
Delivery and Brand Application
- Application Design: Created mock-ups of the logo for social media, to showcase its versatility and appeal.
- Brand Guidelines: Compiled comprehensive brand guidelines detailing the usage of the logo, color palette, typography, and other visual elements to ensure consistent application across all brand materials.
Reflection and Learning
- Project Review: Reviewed the project to identify successes, challenges, and learning points, especially in terms of engaging with an older demographic.
- Future Considerations: Considered future adaptations of the logo and brand identity as the company evolves and as the target audience’s needs and behaviors change over time.
Throughout this process, a key focus was on creating a logo that would not only serve the functional needs of the brand but also emotionally connect with and be easily understood by Bridgetown Research’s target audience of individuals aged 50-60.
