Use actual copy early in the process

Using actual copy early in the design process helps you make better layout decisions from the start.[1] Real content reveals how headlines, body text, and labels will actually behave, something placeholder text can't show you. You'll spot issues like headlines that are too long, buttons with awkward labels, or descriptions that don't fit the allocated space before they become costly to fix.

When designers and copywriters work in parallel rather than sequentially, the result is a more cohesive product. Copy can be written to fit the design, and the design can adapt to accommodate essential messaging. This collaboration also prevents last-minute surprises when Lorem ipsum gets replaced with real text that's twice as long or half as short as expected.
