UX Writing - iOS notifications
A few iOS push notifications from a fictional e-commerce brand called Spectacular.
Spectacular offers prescription glasses and sunglasses that can be ordered online. They also have offline stores where glasses can be ordered and/or picked up.
The brand is addressed to millennials and Gen X. Its voice is positive, relatively playful, and unafraid.
The notifications I prepared can be divided to two types.
More informative and concise:
- Order confirmation and receipt. It reassures the user that the order has been received, informs what the order was for and gives them instant access to the purchase document,
- Information that glasses are ready to be picked up at the physical store. When a user orders glasses to a specific store, a push notification is sent informing them that they can pick the order up; the name of the brand's store is also mentioned. User could tap on the notification to see a map directing them to that store,
- A reminder that the order is waiting to be picked up. Thanks to it, user gets an extra notice that the order is still waiting for them, with info about where it can be picked up.
More playful, encouraging user to make an order:
- A promo offer. With a more playful approach, it informs the user about the current offer, its time and discount available,
- Information about an unfinished order. Encourages user to check their cart again, as well as shows the benefit of making the order (quick time of order finalization).
