Manage Addresses
Old/Current design
Why Re-Design?
First Problem: Upon opening the app for the first time, the location service permission is requested too early, without providing any visual explanation for why this prompt appears on the screen.
Second Problem: Managing the saved addresses sheet was a nightmare, both for managing existing addresses and saving new ones.
Research Goals:
- Identify user challenges with selecting and managing delivery addresses.
- Understand user preferences for visual and functional improvements.
- Analyze competitor designs for best practices in address management.
Methods:
- User Interviews: Conducted with current users to gather feedback on managing delivery addresses.
- Competitive Analysis: Reviewed address management processes of leading grocery delivery services.
- Usability Testing: Observed users interacting with the current design to identify pain points.
Problems Identified
- First-Time User Experience: Upon opening the app for the first time, the location service permission is requested too early, without providing any visual explanation for why this prompt appears on the screen. This can be confusing and off-putting for new users.
- Overall Aesthetic and Visual Appeal: The old design uses a consistent green color scheme with a sheet for the delivery location. The design is functional but visually monotonous and lacks variety.
- Text and Messaging: Text is placed within sheet, which can sometimes make it harder to read and interact with. The messaging is not prominently displayed.
- User Interaction: Limited options for interacting with saved addresses and adding new addresses. The interface lacks clear visual cues for user actions.
- Information Density and Clarity: The information is presented in a dense format with limited space, making it difficult for users to quickly understand their options.

Fixing second problem
The process of managing saved addresses was frustrating and cumbersome, both for updating existing addresses and adding new ones. We need to create a more engaging and visually appealing experience for users to manage their addresses within the app.
- Text is bolder, more prominent, and placed on solid or gradient backgrounds for better readability.
- Messaging is clear and direct, highlighting key options like saving locations and turning on location services.
- Information is more spaced out with clear, concise messages on each screen.
- Reduces cognitive load and makes it easier for users to grasp key points quickly.
- Enhanced Usability: Users find it easier to manage their addresses.
- Improved Interface: The design changes make the process more intuitive and visually appealing.
- Greater Efficiency: Tasks related to address management can be completed faster and with less effort.
- Positive Feedback: Users are likely providing more positive reviews or feedback regarding the address management feature.

Thorough case study on the redesign! From the microcopy side, the copy is clear, concise, and helpful without being overwhelming. The visual design looks clean and well-executed. The only suggestion I have is to include the old designs for comparison, allowing us to better evaluate the improvements you've made with the new designs. Thank you, and keep up the great work!
