LCBO Internal Shift Tracker - Tablet Kiosk
This is the first part of a mini-product management case study of designing a software for tracking shifts and employee hours for LCBO.
The idea came about working last summer at LCBO and having to manually track hours and schdules using pen-and-paper. I realized there's a potential loss of thousands of money through manual entry error and extra labour cost inputting all the hours.
The case study process is as follows:
- Research competiting shift tracking softwares for best UI/UX practices, LCBO employee pain points and motivations, and internal business processes that may affect the design of the software.
Full Research Report Prompted on ChatGPT
- Establish user flows and wireframe each screen for the user flow
- Upload wireframes unto to Base44 and develop a MVP prototype

Great job, Nicholas! This is a strong, process driver project, real problem, clear process, modern tools. What could be improved: The summary mentions researching “competing shift tracking softwares” and “employee pain points,” but doesn’t share findings or insights. Including a few key discoveries or user quotes would add credibility and depth. More than one screenshot or embedded frames would make project more engaging and tangible. Working prototype is awesome! There are a few typos (“schdules,” “unto to Base44”) and some sentences could be tightened for clarity. A quick edit would polish the presentation. Think about adding, a user persona or two. key research insight, with a qoute or a stat.
