Oh my days I love this! I love party games and would absolutely play this. Love the characters, love the illustrations and I thoroughly enjoyed reading the description of the personalities. I like that one character's redeeming personality is that she's just plain old rude 😂
What I think can be improved:
- Something that bugged me was the thin font, it doesn't quite match the font of "Don't break character" and even though it gives it that retro game look it could be hard to read. You could thicken up that font or choose another and I'm totally on board.
- The bubbles on the background are a playful touch, but I'd reduce the opacity a bit as it can look quite busy. Also for mobile design I'd bring the game title and characters names down a few pixels as its quite close to the notch and feels a bit stuffy up on the top.
- I am curious about why users need to add their phone number, maybe add a information box where you explain what you intend to do with the phone number and whether its a requirement or it can be skipped.
- Small spelling error on the pick-up artist profile, it says he is a flirt but, "bat at it"
Highlights:
- Adding past games and ability to share to social media is a great incentive to bring players back and increase retention.
- The retro feel of the game is nice and the characters bring the personas to life so that the players can really feel who they are going to impersonate.
- The animations of the game screens are great and I love the addition of sober mode, I think more games should have that, makes it feel inclusive and mindful of different people's preferences.
- The game is well thought out and even has pair challenges, and includes great features like a timer and fun screens which show that the time is up, or that someone is out. When someone is out, the call to action simply says "Okay," but that might feel like an anti-climax, maybe something like "Become a judge" or "Return to home" will give the out players a sense of direction.
I had fun going through your project and am extra excited that you've created a card version of it. I can also imagine this being a fun idea for designers to learn to design for different personas.
Great work keep it up!
