When we talk about push notifications, the main goal is to keep them short and straightforward so as to keep the reader's attention focused.

So here I try to make it scannable, clear, and align with Blibli brand voice and tone.

Let's Break it down

Special offer

English:

  • Headline: Happy Payday Sale! 🥳
  • Body: It’s time to treat yourself! Enjoy up to 50% OFF ALL your favorite items. Shop now before they’re gone!

Indonesia:

  • Headline: Gajian Ceria! Diskon Nendang 🥳
  • Body: Manjakan diri dengan diskon s/d 50% untuk SEMUA item favoritmu. Yuk borong sebelum kehabisan!

You will get this notification at the beginning of the month or at the end of the month, hehe when you just got paid. I used Lively and Witty Voice, with Cheerful, Conversational Tone.

Order confirmation

English:

  • Headline: Order Confirmed! ✅
  • Body: Awesome! Your payment was through, and we’re getting your order ready to ship.

Indonesia:

  • Headline: Pesananmu berhasil dibuat! ✅
  • Body: Yeay! Pembayaranmu sukses. Pesananmu akan segera kami proses.

This notification will appear as soon as the user successfully completes the payment process. I used Resourceful, Lively and Witty Voice , with Cheerful, and Helpful Tone. The ✅ emoji is used to convey good news and add a positive vibe.

Abandoned cart

English:

  • Headline: Items in Cart are Protesting! 😠
  • Body: The items in your cart are protesting about being ignored! 🥺 Quick, finish checkout before they run out!

Indonesia:

  • Headline: Item di Keranjang Mulai Protes! 😠
  • Body: Item di keranjang protes dianggurin! 🥺 Yuk, segera checkout sebelum kehabisan!

This notification is usually sent to users who add items to their online shopping basket but then leave the app or website without completing their purchase. It creates a sense of soft urgency “finish checkout before they run out!” in a playful and funny way.

Order Update (Shipped):

English:

  • Headline: Your Iphone 13 is On Its Way!
  • Body: Your order has been shipped today. Get ready for your dream item to arrive in your hands. 😊

Indonesia:

  • Headline: Iphone 13 Kamu Segera Tiba!
  • Body: Pesananmu sudah kami kirim hari ini. Sebentar lagi barang impianmu akan sampai di tangan. 😊

This notification will appear once the customer’s order has been processed, packed and handed over to the courier for delivery to the destination address. In this example, the order is for an iPhone 13. The message is clear, enthusiastic and feels personalized. Using the phrase ‘your dream item’ is an effective way to emphasize the passionate and empathetic sides.

The reason I made both English and Bahasa Indonesia versions is because this case study uses one of the e-commerce platforms in Indonesia. I tried to localize it because the base users don't speak English as their first language.

In the Order Confirmation push, it's great that you included all the necessary information in a clear and concise way, so the user knows exactly what to expect.

There are just two points I’d question a bit:

  • The Abandoned Cart notification felt a bit manipulative. Playing on guilt can be a bad idea, as it might lead users to turn off notifications or lose trust in the brand.
  • For the Order Update notification – it's great that you made it concise and personalized by mentioning the specific item. However, technically, the message will likely look like this: “Your {ordered item} is on its way!” Some items might not match the “dream item” reference used in the body text, so that wording might need to be reconsidered.
