404 page - UX Writing course
404 page design for the UX Writer Career Path course.
For this exercise, I created a fictional bank called VaBank. This is a traditional bank focused on safety, and its clients are people on all levels of technical and financial experience. The brand's voice needs to be reassuring and firm. As this is a financial institution, I wanted to be as clear and concise as possible.
The goal of a 404 page is not only to inform the user of the missing page but also to give them a way to return to a known environment or search for the page they were looking for in the first place. This is why I incorporated a search bar, a "Back to home page" button, and a list of popular sites that the user may have been looking for.
The page is illustrated with a photo of a wallet lost in a city, playing with the idea of being lost on the bank's page.
