User Personas for Social Media App
Based on research findings, I created three detailed user personas that represent distinct audience segments:
- Sara, the Trend Follower (professional user looking for quality trends)
- Leo, the Aspiring Creator (content creator focused on growth)
- Emily, the Entertainment Seeker (college student seeking fast, fun content)
Each persona includes:
- Demographics (age, location, device, education)
- Short bio
- User behaviors
- Goals
- Pain points
- Motivations
- Key characteristics and personality traits
Challenges & Insights from Research
Challenges:
- User frustration with content saturation and repetitive recommendations.
- Creators feeling demotivated due to lower visibility and lack of tools.
- The algorithm lacks transparency, which erodes trust.
- Poor discoverability of niche or high-quality content.
Key Insights:
- Personalization matters: Users expect evolving, personalized feeds.
- Creator tools drive engagement: If creators leave, viewers leave too.
- Discovery features are underused: Users don’t know how to find fresh or tailored content easily.
- Community and trends are lifelines: The app must keep people feeling part of a vibrant culture.
