In this project I am a UX designer for a social media platform.

Problem: User engagement in the platform has dropped after launch.

Goal: Understand why the user engagement is dropping. To do this we need to understand the users better by knowing their Goals, Pain Points, Motivations, and Frustrations with the platform.

Methods: Surveys, and User Interviews. Surveys were used for quick quantitative answers while the user interviews give better insight on the behaviors and emotions of the users.

The personas look interesting, but I’m struggling to understand the connection between them and the product you’re designing for. Your pain points, like difficulty staying consistent and dealing with mean comments, are real and valid. However, the motivation of “recognition from her peers” feels a bit too general, so it’s difficult to understand their deeper behaviour: what they need to publish, which platforms they use, and why they would need this product.

I also wonder why you chose only two personas. On social media, there are usually more creator types, such as beginner creators, business creators, niche creators, and influencers. Where did you get the data for these personas? Did you have interviews with them?

Adding a bit more segmentation or explaining the selection criteria would make the personas much stronger and more aligned with the product goals.

Good job
