Shipphin - Remote Ship Control System
This is a project focused on developing a remote ship control system. The primary objective of this project is to design and develop a cutting-edge solution that enables captains and engineers to control ships from land at any given time, helping to minimize risks related to natural disasters.
Key feature
- Remote Access: The system will provide engineers with real-time access to critical ship functions and data, allowing them to monitor and control operations remotely.
- Intuitive Interface: A user-friendly interface will be designed to ensure ease of navigation and efficient operation, even for users with minimal technical expertise.
- Comprehensive Control: Engineers will have the ability to control various aspects of the ship, including propulsion, navigation, power management, and safety systems.
- Data Visualization: The system will incorporate visualizations of key ship metrics and data, facilitating informed decision-making for the engineer.
- Customization Options: Engineers will be able to customize the interface based on their preferences and specific requirements, enhancing usability and efficiency.
My role & responsibilities
- Research:
- Conduct user research
- Create user personas
- Map user journeys
- Perform usability testing
- Design:
- Create wireframes
- Create mockups
- Build prototypes
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers and the development team to ensure the design vision is understood and implemented correctly. Participate in regular meetings and provide updates on design progress.
- Review and Update: Continuously review and update designs based on user feedback and analytics data to ensure the product meets user needs and expectations. Implement changes based on test results and stakeholder feedback.

Thanks for your work, Ngo! What you did here is quite incredible!
I love the clean structure and the fact that you put the timeline gives trust to the project.
The interface looks so fresh and modern!
Do you know what makes this from "great designer" to " I want this designer on my team"?
Tell us about your struggles!
Tell us where you found it hard to understand and how you managed it!
Tell us about how hard was to understand all the technical data of a ship and order them hierarchal so the remote captain you get the most out of it. Tell us what went wrong and what cannot be fixed.
Struggles show your behind-the-scene personality, passion, and abilities under pressure.
Great vibes!

Hi Ngô. Your project is very detailed and looks professional, no doubt you put time and effort in creating the design itself and the presentation.
The topic you were working on has an unique feeling, which I would propose to highlight even more by adding a Storytelling into your presentation. You can support the story visually and in textual form.
You can expand your project by adding:
- Research phase
- More about solutions and how you decided on them
- More components to Design System, since you have great elements used in UI.
- Adding some ending to your project in a takeaways for example.
In Onboarding for engineers it is redundant to use * asterisks for the mandatory fields. It is a common practice having them in order to login and users know that.
Amazing work! I didn't know that cargo ships can be controlled remotely!
