Lovely work, Rachael.

Your research into the color system and how they've been used by competition is rich. I think it's always important to connect the value system of a brand with the visual choices on it's product. Great job!

However, I think colors play a more functional role in the design than just aesthetics. For example, while you will like to use your primary brand color (or 'success' color) for all the important buttons in your design, it may be confusing for the user to know which button to attend to ("there are many buttons with the same color, which should one I click?"). Consider having just one or two primary buttons on the page pointing to the main task to be completed by the user.

Also, colors are directional. What I mean here is that designer should us colors to draw attention to certain elements, while creating a sense of balance on the overall design. In your design, the purple pane on the right side seems to draw more attention (because of its contrast) to the calendar and daily task counter, instead of the central part of the page, which I think is more important. I think you may want to be more cautious when using deep-colored backgrounds on secondary elements of your design.

Finally, using accessibility guidelines, some elements of the design don't seem to have good contrast. For example, the green dot on the calendar icon beside the notification icon, the checkmark and 'x' icons on each task, the number on the notification icon... In all, it's not just enough to use accessible colors; but how you use them and pair them up is equally important.

Other improvements you could make to your design could be around the alignment and positioning of elements; except this is just a low-fidelity design.

Well done!
