This project had the goal of creating a user-accessible sign in page for the ADT+ app. The original design has a lot of functional errors, which makes the app confusing and difficult to access to your home's security system, especially in the case of an emergency.

Key Findings:

  • Lengthy sign in process
  • External sign in page
  • Breaking WCAG Typography standards

Implemented Solutions:

  • Simplified sign in: Sign in form is simplified from three screens down to one
  • Optional PIN sign in: For quick access and emergencies, users can input their security system pin to access their account
  • In-app sign in page: App now opens to immediate sign in, taking out an unnecessary step on the main landing page
  • WCAG compliant: Minimum 4.5:1 contrast on all typography, 16pt font for content (14pt minimum for alerts/disclaimers), 44px minimum touchpoints

A quick and accessible sign in page is crucial for a safe and secure home. I appreciate any and all feedback! :)

You’ve made it easier for users to access their home security quickly, especially in emergencies. Reducing the sign-in process from three screens to one was a smart move. Adding the PIN option for quick access is also very helpful.

Making sure everything follows accessibility standards shows real attention to detail. You've improved both safety and usability.

Keep up the good work

Thanks for sub, Megan!

I love the way you explained and seams like you applied some shortcuts. User love shortcurts. However, I feel the need of explaining how the pin is working?

Great vibes only!

Fantastic job at identifying the current problems an interface has and addressing these issues in a way that streamlines the sign in process. I know that ADT has a wide range of user personas and making the process simple and accessible would help many that use the app. Great work!

This is super clean Megan, love the approach and revised version. One detail caught my eye. The face recognition/fingerprint option is a checkbox, what happens when interacting with it? Do other options become inactive? Did you consider having an additional button for it?

Great work! Its simple clean and smart and I can see how you made it easier for the user to use these screens so well done! Keep it up!

It is an absolutely solid transformation with improved readability, streamlined flow, and enhanced accessibility, adhering to WCAG standards.

Keep up the great work :)
