Renaming layers

Properly naming layers in Figma is crucial for organization and collaboration. Clear, consistent naming conventions improve project manageability and speed up the design process, especially in large projects or when handing off designs to developers.

To rename a layer in Figma, double-click on the layer's name in the Layers panel, type the new name, and press Enter. Alternatively, you can click on the layer’s name and press Command R (Mac) or Ctrl R (Windows) and type in a new name. Always make sure each layer is named in a self-explanatory and straightforward manner.
