Hey Ekin, I really love this project! It’s a huge improvement on the original, especially in terms of hierarchy.
I love how you combined UX Pilot with your own expertise to create the final outputs. It’s a great example of how AI can support us without replacing us. You also did an awesome job explaining your process too!
Hey Ekin!
I just checked out your Splitwise Redesign with UX Pilot, and I like that you didn’t try to completely reinvent the product. It feels more like thoughtful refinement than a dramatic redesign, which honestly fits a mature app like Splitwise.
What stands out is how you approached clarity. Expense tracking apps can get messy fast, but your layout feels more digestible. The hierarchy seems cleaner, and the balance summaries look easier to scan. That’s a strong usability move.
I also find it interesting that you used UX Pilot in the process. If you showed how AI supported your exploration (instead of replacing your thinking), that’s actually a strength it signals you know how to collaborate with tools, not depend on them blindly.
If I were to push it further, I’d want to see deeper behavioral reasoning. For example, how does this redesign reduce tension between users when settling debts? Splitwise isn’t just finance it’s social dynamics. Leaning into that emotional layer would make it even more compelling.
Overall, this feels practical and product-aware. Not flashy but smart.
Such a great work and engaging presentation!
Great and beautiful job!
Congrats!
I absolutely love this redesign. The visual clarity and refined layout immediately grabbed my attention. The way you've reimagined the user flows and added thoughtful touches to strengthen usability shows a deep understanding of both the product and the user.
The consistency of the UI elements, the effective use of space, and the clean, modern aesthetic bring the experience up a level. The reasoning behind the design decisions is clearly communicated and really helps to understand the “why” behind each change.
Great job, Ekin Karaoğuz 👏
Hey Ekin. This is great!
I love how you walked us through the design analysis in depth, and it's something I will take inspiration from in my future case studies.
I also find it interesting how we both approached more or less the same topic, which is expense tracking, but we dealt with entirely different aspects of it. Just goes to show how diverse our needs and research outcomes can be based on the demographic.
I think while it can be challenging to maintain consistency across screens, you did a good job getting UX Pilot to deliver consistent outcomes and the screens look cohesive, and a part of the same package.
Good Job!
