Why Gibbons?

One of my favorite animals is the Gibbon. If you have ever been to the zoo or watched a YouTube video of them. You will probably be entertained for hours with their antics and singing.

The process

To begin, I first looked up different conservation groups. I discovered Gibbon Conservation Center, Gibbon Conservation Society, Gibbon Conservation Alliance, WWF, The Nature Conservancy. They helped give me inspiration and see what other nonprofits are doing.

Anyone who is familiar with Object Oriented UX the first thing I did was look for nouns on these conservations websites. With the help of ChatGPT, it found many of the nouns on these sites and then I had ChatGPT prioritize these nouns. These gave me my building blocks to structure the landing page with the most important content. The top three nouns that I used as objects were Gibbons, Conservation, and Volunteers.

Features

With these nouns in mind, I added the following features.

Gibbons: Meet Our Gibbons section to introduce some gibbons the conservation has helped. Also, images on the landing page showing it about Gibbons.

Conservation: I highlight the conservation's mission statement and dedications to protecting Gibbons. Then below Icons with highlighted stats showing the impact that has been made to date.

Volunteer: Toward the bottom of the page after highlighting what has been accomplished. I conclude with a CTA to get other to join and volunteer.

Well done Shane,

This landing page has a lot of good things done right, I particularly love the Hero imagery and the footer.

However, some of the layouts, especially the the impact, who were are downwards, feels a little bit crowded. Maybe work on displaying the information in fresh new layouts with more negative space and probably some background sectioning to group related items even better.

Cheers!

Dankwah, thank you for the feedback. This was good feedback to improve this design overall. I made some adjustments to the page. Can you take another look and let me know your thoughts?
Much better! Now maybe adjust the length of the "dedicated..." bit as most lines should be within about 40-75 characters
I found a plugin to count characters on Figma and updated the mission statement. Also, I wanted to ask how do you go about selecting typography for a project? Do you have a process?
