Hi Lia,

Thank you for taking the initiative to revamp the empty states of Khan Academy.

Your thought process is excellent, and the visuals are very aesthetic. However, while redesigning, it’s important to always align with the product's Design Language and Design System. This ensures consistency across the platform, maintains brand identity, and provides a seamless user experience.

Keep up the great work! Looking forward to your next iteration.

Yes I agree with this sentiment, khan academy uses consistent illustrations of it's characters which haven't featured in the research ir the result.
Hi Rushabh, Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate you pointing out the importance of aligning with the design language and system, and I’ll make it a priority to ensure my next iteration is consistent with Khan Academy’s brand identity. In my presentation, I shared how I researched the brand guidelines to inform my approach. I made sure to keep the fonts and colours consistent and created a new character that followed the sketch-type style already established by the brand. However, it’s possible that I misunderstood or missed some aspects of the guidelines. Could you expand on which areas might need refinement? For example, is it about the way the character was integrated, or are there other elements I should revisit? I’d love to hear more of your thoughts so I can ensure the design is more aligned moving forward. Thanks again for the encouragement—I’m excited to refine this further!

Great effort on the empty state design! 👏 The visuals are clean and creative, but I think staying closer to Khan Academy’s established illustration style and design system would make it feel more consistent with the brand. Overall, a solid direction—excited to see how you refine it further.
