CommuteWise is a Public Taxi tracking app where users can track how far the taxis are, how much is the price of the taxi to their specific destination.

The Problem

Many commuters face challenges with their daily commute, such as traffic congestion, road closures, and unexpected delays. This can lead to increased stress, wasted time, and a negative impact on work-life balance. Furthermore, with the rise of remote work and hybrid work models, many commuters are seeking flexible transportation options beyond traditional driving.

Hey Xolani,

Your CommuteWise app has a clear user focus and a well-structured journey that really helps explain the design decisions. The UI looks promising, especially with the map and orange splash screen adding personality. To improve, try showing more on how pricing and comparisons work within the flow, boost input field size for better usability, and add loading indicators to keep users informed. Overall, great work with strong empathy—looking forward to your next iteration!

Awesome! You inform design solution well by sharing user journey and user tasks. The user journey is informative and self-explanatory. And the UI screens illustrate part of the user tasks listed.

Your design would be more communicative if your UI sketches could include more to reveal how your design support users to complete listed tasks, e.g. how the prices show, and how the pricing comparison is done.

Your app design is great, The orange splash screen and map integration with a Cape Town focus are visually appealing, However, the low-contrast ( Where to? ) text struggles in bright light, the input field’s tiny 30px size needs a bump to 48px with padding, and the lack of a loading indicator could confuse users
