Establish visual hierarchy
Designers establish hierarchy through scale, color, typography, and other techniques to highlight important elements and guide users' attention. Hierarchy makes pages easier to scan so users can find what they need faster.
Avoid presenting settings as one continuous list or relying too heavily on divider lines, which can create visual noise. Instead, break dense settings pages into clear sections with descriptive headings and use white space as a natural divider between groups. This creates visual breathing room without cluttering the interface.
