A/B testing

A/B testing compares two versions of a page by making them live short-term, evaluating metrics to choose the more successful option. This test is most effective for copy related to CTAs.

To conduct an A/B test:

  • Identify issues and suggest an alternative. For instance, changing a vague "Continue" button to "Create account" may improve clarity.
  • Define objectives with measurable outcomes, like increased registrations.

Before testing, address any usability issues that might skew results. For example, a high-conversion copy with low comprehension may cause drop-offs later. Conduct comprehension testing first, then A/B test only variants with high comprehension.
