Goals
Goals in gamification are clear targets that users aim to achieve. They give purpose and direction to the users’ actions. In games, goals might include reaching the next level or collecting specific items. For example, in Mario, the goal is to save the princess by completing levels. Within a product’s interface, a goal might be to complete a profile or finish a tutorial or challenge. For instance, in a fitness app, the goal could be to finish a week-long exercise challenge.
It's important that users can see their progress toward these goals so they remain motivated. Small goals, like finishing a single workout, should lead to the final goal, like completing the week-long challenge. This structure helps users stay engaged and feel a sense of accomplishment along the way.[1]
