Scale for export
Figma's export settings provide precise control over the dimensions of your designs when exported. You can opt for default scale options or specify a custom size.
To tailor the size, enter a number followed by:
- “x” to scale by that multiplier
- “w” for a specific width
- “h” for a designated height
Scaling is particularly useful for high-density displays like retina screens, enhancing the resolution of your assets.
Figma's images usually export at 72DPI (Dots Per Inch), reflecting image sharpness. To compute the DPI for a scaled image, simply multiply 72 by your scale factor. For instance, images scaled at 2x have a DPI of 144. Higher DPI is vital for sharp, detailed images on high-resolution screens, ensuring visual clarity in your designs.
