MindfullNest Workshop
Product: MindfulNest mindful app
Device Type: Mobile Phone & Tablet
Workshop members: 10 - Designers, Engineers, PMs, Leadership
Workshop type: Fully remote
Workshop timeframe: 1 Day, 8 hours
Objective: To brainstorm, select, and strategize the implementation of new features for our mindful app post MVP
MindfulNest is a mindfulness app for iOS and Android that gives busy people a calm space to reset and focus. We’ve built a solid base with a few core features, but now it’s time to expand and bring more value to our users.
We’re running a combined generative and evaluative workshop to bring the team together to spark new ideas and shape a roadmap for what’s next.
Our focus is simple: understand what users really need, tackle their challenges, and design solutions that feel easy, supportive, and personal.
MindfulNest exists because sticking with mindfulness is tough. Most apps overwhelm people or don’t adapt to where they are in their journey. We want to create something calmer and more intentional: a tool that helps people build habits without pressure, track progress in a motivating way, and access guided meditations that actually fit their lives.
Pre-workshop context
- Survey sent to all participants to prepare
- Email sent that includes the three user profiles we’ve compiled for our initial launch
- Get familiar with the tools we’ll be using in our workshop
- Our workshop is fully remote
Workshop principles
- Speak your mind: Everyone is encourages to speak up and share your thoughts.
- Collaborate with care: Listen and share respectfully, building on ideas (it’s ok to disagree respectfully).
- Keep the user in mind: Keep our minds on our user and their goals.
- No wrong answers: All ideas are welcome. We’re looking for open collaboration.
Workshop objectives
- Generate new features for our app that will enhance the experience for our users
- Prioritize ideas based on user impact and feasibility
- Create a clear roadmap to bring features to life
- Foster collaboration and alignment across the team

Shannon, love how thoughtfully structured and user-focused your workshop is—the agenda is solid, though simplifying it a bit could make it feel lighter, and overall you’ve done a great job setting the team up for success!
Really strong workshop design, clear flow from ideation to prioritization with tangible deliverables. Love the inclusion of pre-workshop prep and wellness-focused icebreakers. I’d suggest grounding activities more directly in personas and user journeys, and clarifying remote tools to ensure smooth facilitation. Overall, a thoughtful and engaging plan.
The MindfulNest workshop is well structured and keeps the focus on user needs. I like how you mixed idea generation with evaluation so the team could explore but also prioritize.
The deliverables are clear and useful, giving the team a solid path forward. The only thing I’d suggest is making the agenda a bit simpler so it feels less heavy at first glance.
Overall, a strong workshop that combines creativity, structure, and user focus.
Such a cute design you got there, would love to know more detail though
Good idea! i live it!
The presentation design is very client and aesthetically pleasing. The visual design here all around is really impressive. The colors, the shapes, and custom illustrations are all very calming and look professional.
I would have liked some more context in the case study what MindfulNest was and would've loved if the case study talked more about the process of creating this workshop and deck. Otherwise this is incredibly well done, great job!
