Instagram, one of the world’s leading social media platforms, has faced challenges in sustaining user engagement despite its massive user base. With the rise of competitors like TikTok and YouTube Shorts, Many users report issues such as repetitive content, decreased visibility for smaller creators, and difficulty staying connected with friends’ updates.

This case study explores these engagement challenges through user research and persona building. Two core user groups were identified — casual scrollers, who seek fresh and entertaining content, and emerging creators, who want visibility and growth. Based on these insights, design opportunities were identified to improve content discovery, empower creators, and strengthen community interactions, ultimately aiming to restore long-term engagement on Instagram.

Nice work, Pronoy — your personas are clear, visually engaging, and really capture Instagram’s engagement challenges in a way that feels actionable. To push it further, you could bring in more detail on emotional drivers or link each opportunity back to a specific pain point for stronger credibility. Overall, this is a thoughtful and well-presented piece — great job turning research into design insights!

Great work on this project, Pronoy 👏 The personas are clear, visually consistent, and tie motivations and frustrations directly to Instagram’s engagement challenges in a way that feels actionable. One small improvement could be adding a bit more context on research sources or demographics to strengthen credibility, but overall this is a thoughtful and well-presented piece that shows strong design thinking 🚀✨

Hello Pronoy,

Great work on your personas! I like how you’ve structured them — they feel clear, easy to scan, and visually consistent, which makes the insights approachable even for someone outside of UX. The use of imagery and layout gives each persona personality without being overwhelming, which is a strong balance to achieve.

What I especially appreciate is that you didn’t just list demographics but tied them back to goals, frustrations, and behaviors — that makes the personas actionable, not just decorative. As you refine them further, you might think about highlighting more of the emotional drivers or context-of-use moments, since those often inspire strong design opportunities.

Overall, this is a solid and well-thought-out piece — you’re definitely on the right track in turning research into meaningful design tools. Nicely done!

Great work! The personas feel relevant and distinct, with clear motivations, frustrations, and goals tied to Instagram’s engagement challenges. The insights and design opportunities connect well to the research, and the visual presentation is clean and easy to follow. To make it even stronger, you could add more detail on sample size/demographics for credibility and link each design opportunity directly to a persona’s specific pain point.
