🚀 Case Study: Re-engineering Focus in 'THE COACH' Language App

1. Project Overview & The UX Challenge 🎯

The project was a redesign of a primary user flow and dashboard for 'THE COACH,' an AI-driven English learning app.

  • The Problem (The "Why"): I was struggling with confusing lesson paths and a cluttered UI, leading to cognitive overload and difficulty focusing on the relevant, daily learning tasks.
  • The Goal: Simplify the navigation, clarify the learning path (reducing taps to start a lesson), and establish a clean, modern aesthetic that promotes focus.
  • Tools: UX Pilot (HI-FI Screens) & Figma (Prototyping & Additional Polish).

3. Process, Challenges, & Key Learnings 💡

The Resource Pivot

The primary challenge was a resource constraint (running out of free credits on the AI tool). This forced an abrupt shift for finishing the prototype.

Key Learnings

  1. Prompting is the New Skillset: While the overall design process was drastically accelerated, the initial time saved was re-invested into learning how to correctly prompt the AI. Prompt engineering is a steep learning path at the beginning, but mastery is critical for directing the output toward usable UI instead of just pretty pictures.
  2. The Joy of Flow: Once the initial learning curve was conquered and the tool's 'language' was understood, the creative process felt significantly more fluid and enjoyable. The tool transformed into a true creative co-pilot, accelerating the work and making rapid visual exploration feel like fun.

4. Final Design 🎉

The redesigned flow effectively reduces cognitive load and ensures a simple, focused journey for the user
