A Baduga Wedding - Flat Illustration
The requirement was for a wedding invitation card. The bride and the groom belonged to the Baduga tribe, an indigenous group of people originating from the Nilgiri hills of Tamil Nadu, India. I created a scenic flat illustration representing a Baduga wedding procession, with people donning their tradition attire. The couple were proud of their culture, and the idea was to emulate their pride in the card that they sent out to their loved ones.

Hi Goutham. Beautiful concept and happy people.
Even though the illustration is done in a flat style, it still feels like it can be improved by adding more details and shadows (some houses for instance floating). I would also loved to see illustration in a real life mockups, like a wedding card as you mentioned, or even as a picture.

Hi Goutham, this illustration is very beautiful and clean. I like that you showed the culture through like the brief required.
I would have loved to see the application in the final invitation card and also some concepting process.
Thank you for the description for more understanding about the local culture. The illustration has nice color and attractive. I only has two recommendations that you could consider:
- How about adding some texture/grain on the large solid color area to add more depth to the illustration?
- It would be great if we could see it applied to the card mockup
Nice job, Goutham.
