Time spent

Time spent on a page might seem like an indicator of user engagement, but it can be misleading. If users spend only a brief time on a page, it could mean either that they found the content too confusing and left, or that the content was clear and efficient, allowing them to complete their task quickly.

To better understand user behavior, combine time-on-page data with other metrics like comprehension and conversion rates. For example, if users demonstrate strong comprehension in tests (e.g., cloze tests) but still exit without converting, it could suggest issues with page design or content that need review.
