Adding placeholders

Adding placeholders

The placeholder attribute provides a brief hint to users about what kind of information they need to enter into the field. Avoid writing lengthy prompts and explanations — the best placeholder is a one or two-word example. The attribute doesn't allow line breaks.

When designing a form, make sure that users can fill it out even if they can't read placeholders.
