Choose evaluators
Evaluator selection significantly impacts inspection quality. Ideal evaluators combine usability expertise with enough product distance to spot issues team members might overlook. However, finding truly unbiased evaluators remains challenging since everyone brings personal perspectives.
Consider mixing evaluator types for comprehensive coverage. Include usability specialists for methodological rigor, designers from other teams for fresh perspectives, and subject matter experts who understand your domain. Each brings different strengths: usability experts catch principle violations while domain experts spot workflow issues.
Ensure evaluators understand your user personas and business context without being so immersed that they lose objectivity.
