Optical compensation

Optical compensation

You're already familiar with optical illusions and know that our visual system is far from mathematical preciseness and sharpness. Being mathematically precise doesn't guarantee a balanced and visually pleasing composition in the design. That's why 3D designers use optical compensation — the deliberate overshooting of an object's dimensions — to achieve harmony between objects and make them realistic.[1]
