Freight Document Management System
Problem Brief
A freight/logistics document management system auto-groups logistics documents into Sets, but errors in labelling, ordering, and grouping by the AI is common. Users need a scalable screen to quickly view and navigate Sets, documents, and pages; relabel items inline or in bulk; rearrange or regroup pages and documents via drag-and-drop; and merge, split, move, or delete content at both document and Set levels. The design must minimize clicks with quick actions.
Solution Overview
The nested sidebar panel organizes Sets → Documents in a clear tree structure. This allows users to move entire documents between Sets instantly, or pages across docs from different sets.
Column View (Kanban-like): Documents are grouped by type (Invoice, Bill of Lading, etc.), making it easy to visually scan across categories. Optimized for low-mid volume
List View (Expanded): Optimized for scale; large numbers of pages can be navigated in within each document for rapid reordering without scrolling.
Action-Oriented Drag & Drop Canvas: A persistent sidebar contains drop zones for actions like 'Merge', 'Create', and 'Delete'. The drag & drop works for both individual as well as group selections, hence why the checkboxes.

Looks nice Amartya!
On the first glance your design looks nicely organized, data presented is readable. Do you have a prototype for this project? I would love to click trough it so I can understand whole flow a bitt better. But based on the screens you provided, this looks really interesting.
Good job!
Great work Amartya. You explained the problem and solution very clearly. I like how you used different views like column and list, it gives flexibility for different needs. The drag and drop actions with quick access are also a smart choice to save clicks.
You could make the design even stronger by showing how the interface looks in real use, with example documents and sets. Overall, very thoughtful and practical solution.
