The Role

We have recently launched a new ad-supported tier, offering our members more choice in how they consume content. Our new tier allows us to attract new members at a lower price, while also creating a compelling path for advertisers to reach audiences.

To help us deliver this compelling experience, we’re looking for a highly ambitious and visionary Senior Content Designer who will help enable our ads experience and integrations with our ads partners. You’ll partner closely with product designers working on delivering a delightful, engaging, and highly relevant ads experience. You’ll also be a strategic partner with our product, engineering, business, and sales teams to develop visibility into ads performance and member delight.

This will be a hybrid role, with a flexible work-from-home schedule. Onsite attendance will be required as needed by the business. This role would be best for candidates located in California or in the Pacific time zone, as monthly in-person travel will be required to collaborate with stakeholders and partners in Los Angeles, CA and Los Gatos, CA.

About Ads Content XD

Ads Content XD designs the foundational capabilities and technology for Netflix ads experiences and partnerships. Our team’s superpower is the ability to design creatively and collaboratively in highly technical and complex environments. You’ll be a critical part of one of the most talented and trailblazing ads design teams in the world.

About You

As an ads foundations content designer, you’ll help set and elevate the Content Design vision and strategy, create foundational features for our AI enterprise tools, codify AI terminology, define agent-driven copy style and patterns, and co-drive the information ecosystem needed to support these features. In addition:

  • You’re familiar with advertising technology best practices and are comfortable with advertising nomenclature, operations, and streaming technology.
  • You’re a systems thinker who’s familiar with the development of information architecture, language frameworks, and design systems.
  • You’re comfortable working with technical partners to ingest and synthesize highly complex information, turning technical jargon into user-friendly content that’s consistent and legible for B2B audiences.
  • You’re a product thinker who’s comfortable with innovating and finding creative solutions.
  • You’re able to drive alignment and prioritization, while partnering with cross-functional peers across design, engineering, and product to define a strong UX for a specific audience.
  • You communicate productively with visual thinkers and are comfortable advocating for your point of view in a candid, feedback-driven culture.
  • You have demonstrated experience in content design, UX, and AI systems research and development.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of relevant experience: UX writing, content design, technical writing, taxonomy, and information architecture. Past experience in ads is also highly valuable for this role.
  • Demonstrated experience synthesizing business requirements and user needs into UI content for enterprise audiences.
  • Mastery of AP style and the confidence to know when to break the rules.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and traverse altitudes, from strategic visioning to tactical execution.
  • Highly collaborative, organized and self-directed; able to effectively prioritize and respond accordingly to the shifting needs of the team.

AI Specific Qualifications

  • Demonstrated passion for emerging AI (e.g., LLMs, diffusion models) and its application to ad platform intelligence and creative.
  • Experience with structured content, content systems, or ontologies, paired with a strong foundational knowledge of LLM adaptation techniques (e.g., RAG, fine-tuning, tool-calling, etc)
  • Familiarity with engineering workflows and the developer journey for shipping AI-powered features, including the process of designing and implementing AI evals.
  • Knowledge of prompt and context engineering: designing modular content, managing system prompts, tuning model outputs.

This full-time, salaried position reports to the Ads Content Design Manager (Interim to the Ads Foundations Design Manager)

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $120,000-$515,000.

Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off. Full-time salaried employees are immediately entitled to flexible time off.
