Risepoint assists primarily regional universities in increasing their access and impact by making their academic programs available to students online. Founded in 2007, Risepoint's mission is to expand access to high-quality, affordable, and workforce-relevant education, especially for working and adult students. Risepoint brings single-minded dedication to student success, an integrated set of services, and data-driven performance to our collaboration with university partners.

At Risepoint, we are on a mission to redefine higher education for the modern world. We empower learners and partners by delivering transformative, scalable, and student-centric solutions. As we grow and evolve in becoming a tech-enabled higher education service company, we are committed to delivering an outstanding digital student journey grounded in care, simplicity, and real outcomes.

Role Overview

Risepoint is looking for a senior designer to help define a truly personalized student journey. The right applicant has proven experience leading Product Design end-to-end—from research through polished UI—and cares deeply about the outcomes their work enables.

You’ll work in a cross-functional squad (product manager, AI and full stack engineers, student success specialists) and collaborate widely with stakeholders.

We talk to real users weekly (usability tests, interviews, data reviews) and expect the product to reflect what we learn.

Our products must be clear, inclusive, and impressive for a wide audience—students, counselors, and partners. We champion the voice of the student across all channels.

We set and maintain a high bar of excellence in the tools we build, moving fast while staying intentional.

What We Expect From You

  • An appetite for clear reasoning and data-supported design decisions (you can show the why, not just the what).
  • A portfolio with compelling end-to-end case studies (context, process, decisions, results).
  • Flexibility to shift between quick experiments and high-polish design work based on business need.
  • Active participation in prioritization and business discussions; comfort with ambiguity and changing constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Solve user problems start-to-finish: discover needs, map flows, design and iterate wireframes & high-fidelity UI, partner on implementation, and measure results.
  • Own the quality and craft of your work—sweat the details that create clarity and trust.
  • Be nimble: move from experiment mode (rapidly test many ideas) to refinement mode (optimize and polish what works).
  • Collaborate with PMs, engineers, and AI/ML partners to embed AI into seamless, student-friendly experiences.
  • Represent the student’s voice and advocate for consistent, empowering, efficient experiences across channels.
  • Leverage data, insights, and user feedback to define KPIs and continuously improve outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in UX/UI or Product Design for web or mobile products in consumer tech or product-led growth SaaS, with demonstrated project leadership.
  • Strong systems thinker with mastery of interaction design, information architecture, and visual design; expert in Figma (or equivalent).
  • Experience designing for AI-enabled or data-heavy workflows (e.g., chat/agent patterns, explainability, evaluation loops) is a plus.
  • Comfort conducting lightweight research and usability tests; ability to turn learnings into design decisions quickly.
  • Commitment to accessibility and inclusive design for broad audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; thrives in fast-moving, high-ownership environments.
